Choosing A Domain Name - Part 2

Posted By: Easylandingpages admin

Keep It Short and Simple.

Keep it short and simple – even if your business name is long. A length of six to eight letters is ideal.
Make sure it is easy to spell and type. If your domain name is mistyped or misspelt, the consumer will fail to find you.
However, you could also check obvious misspellings of your chosen domain name and consider registering them to bring searchers to you.

Avoid Hyphens and Numbers Acronyms

As most of the unique names are already taken it may seem tempting to use numbers, hyphens and acronyms.
Your business and website name don’t contain numbers or hyphens so this can make it difficult for potential consumers to locate your website.
Hyphens and also underscores can easily be confused, as can the letter ‘o’ and zero.
Using an acronym can also cause confusion unless your or business or brand is well known using the acronym.

Choose a Unique and Memorable Name

Choose a domain name that is snappy and memorable - something that will pop up into the mind of people when typing it into a browser. An easy to recall name means the website is much more likely to be found.

Keep It Meaningful - Use Keywords That Make Sense

Use keywords that represent your business or your brand message.
Make it keyword rich.  Adding a carefully considered keyword in your domain name can improve your SEO and do wonders for your business.
For example, https://easylandingpages.com.au is a simple, keyword rich domain name which explains what the business does by just its domain name.
